Who We Are
Welcome to the shop of Evia Mae & Alex – Veteran Owned -made in California USA. Our name represents three generations –the present, the past, and the future, of creativity and love for a well decorated home. Evia represents me, the owner of Evia Mae & Alex. Mae is for my late mother who modeled and instilled in me my faith, and from whom I get my sense of creativity and style. And Alex is my daughter who encouraged me to start my own business and continues to offer encouragement, insight, and valuable design advice.
A few words about
OUR HISTORY
In August of 2012, Evia Mae & Alex established our first online shop on the Etsy platform with a few classic designs. Within a few short weeks I had my first sale, and I knew that I was really in business. And by 2018, it was time to scale the business and open our own online store EviaMaeAndAlex.com.
Our products are all individually handmade in California USA with quality fabrics and careful attention to details. I have been sewing as long as I can remember. I begin with sewing for my dolls, designing and sewing my high school’s drill team’s uniforms, then designing and sewing couture dresses and wedding gowns (including my own) to sewing for my own children. But what I love best about designing pillow covers and other soft goods is that it is such an easy way to add to the look and style of any home. As a trained designer, it’s the perfect way for me to work with high quality, designer fabrics— mix and match colors and textures, and to curate the finest pillow collections. Evia Mae & Alex creates designer pillow covers that I now make in my home studio – from my home to yours.
When a person asks me how long has it taken me to prepare to open Evia Mae & Alex, I simply respond, “All of my life”.
